The European Open Championship Disciplinary Commission ruling on Qatar delegation

Gothenburg - Thursday 7 July 2011

The European Open Championship Disciplinary Commission has dealt with the matter of the National Delegation of Qatar.

Following the non-appearance of the Qatar team for the 2011 M19 EOC Intermediate Round match against Israel in Gothenburg, Sweden, the 2011 M19 EOC Disciplinary Commission decides as following:

• The final result of the game is 10:0 in favour of Israel.
• M 19 Qatar National Team is eliminated for the rest of the 2011 M19 EOC tournament.
• M 19 Qatar National Team is suspended for one (1) year and not allowed to take part in the next edition of the M19 European Open.
• According to the EHF European Championship Regulations, the Qatar delegation has to pay a financial fine of €15,000.

The Qatar delegation did not enact their right to address an appeal to the 2011 M19 EOC Jury, so the decision went into legal force.
