Official Playing Schedule

The draw of the final tournament of the EHF EURO 2012 on 15 June 2011 in Belgrade gave us four interesting groups.

Group A

Group A is played in Pionir Arena, Belgrade. With Poland – fourth at the EHF EURO 2010 in Austria – and Denmark – finalist of the 2012 World Championships in Sweden – two top teams are challenging the Serbian hosts. The group is completed with Slovakia who showed strong results in Qualification Group 4.

Group B

Group B is played in Sport Center Čair in the town of Niš. Germany – who with a new coach want to forget the disappointing results from Austria and Sweden – will meet the young Swedish team, that won their Qualification Group 4, the Czech Republic with their superstar and World Handball Player 2010 Filip Jicha and FYR Macedonia who hope for thousands of fans supporting them in the venue near the border.

Group C

SPENS in Novi Sad is the venue of Group C, the group with the biggest names in it. The reigning European and World and Olympic champions France will have to face Hungary, who had a very successful Qualification and were the first team to qualify for Serbia, Spain who finished sixth at the EHF EURO 2010 in Austria and from where both teams in the VELUX EHF Champions League final 2011 came from. The group is completed with Russia who also are eager to return home with better results again after disappointments at the last major events.

Group D

One of the tightest groups, Group D, is played in Millenium Hall in Vršac. After a defeat in the final of the EHF EURO 2010 in Austria, they hope that the loud support of their fans can help them on the way to gold. They meet the two strong Scandinavian nations Norway and Iceland, Norway with a young hungry group and Iceland with a lot of experience. Slovenia is the last team in the group who will be playing with a young team consisting of very quick talents.
