EHF EURO 2012 match schedule change

The first phase of the EHF EURO 2012 in the Netherlands – Qualification Phase 1 – will be carried out between 03 and 05 June 2011.

In this initial phase of the 10th Women’s European Championship four teams – Greece, Great Britain, Finland and Israel – play for the two last places in the next tournament stage, Qualification Phase 2.

Qualification Phase 1 will be played in a two-legged k.o.-system with the two fixtures Great Britain vs. Finland and Greece vs. Israel. The two legs will be played within two days at one venue per duel.

The two matches in Great Britain and in Greece will be played on 03 resp. 04 June 2011 (first leg) and 04 resp. 05 June 2011 (second leg).

The match time for the second duel between Israel and Greece, to be played on Saturday 04 June 2011 at Municipal Hall "Ionikos", Athens (GRE) has been changed. The match will now be thrown off at 16:00 hrs (local time).

Saturday 04 June 2011 at 19:30 hrs (local time)
Great Britain vs. Finland
Crystal Palace National Sport Centre, London (GBR)

The winners of the duel between Great Britain and Finland will go into Group 3, together with Russia, Montenegro and Poland.

Friday 03 June 2011, at 16:30 hrs (local time)
Israel vs. Greece
Municipal Hall "Ionikos", Athens (GRE)

Saturday 04 June 2011, at 16:00 hrs (local time)
Greece vs. Israel
Municipal Hall "Ionikos", Athens (GRE)

The winners of the duel between Greece and Israel will go into Group 2, together with Romania, Serbia and Portugal.
