Science and Analytical Expertise in Handball

On 23/24 February 2011 an EHF Expert Group Meeting took place in Vienna (AUT), that also dealt with the preparatory organisation of the 2011 EHF Scientific Conference "Science and Analytical Expertise in Handball".

Preparatory Organizing Committee

  • Alexandru Acsinte (Prof., PhD.) – University of Bacau (ROU)
  • Paul Delamarche (Prof., PhD.) – University Rennes (FRA)
  • Antanas Skarbalius (Prof., PhD.) – Academy of P.E. Kaunas (LTU)
  • Hans Holdhaus – IMSB (AUT)

The conference, which is the first ever that is held directly relating to the team sport of handball, will take place on 18/19 November 2011 in Vienna (AUT) on the occasion of the EHF 20th Anniversary.

The goal of the conference is to bring professional and scientific experts together in order to describe and formulate problems of modern Handball on all organizational levels and forms (male/female, youth, beach, street, wheelchair handball and more) and to bridge the gap between science and practice in handball.

The event is organised by the European Handball Federation and the Union of University Handball Teachers (UUHT). The official language of the conference is English.

Submission of abstracts/posters/articles

Concrete details and a time-schedule relating to the submission of abstracts/posters/articles are to be found in the Second Announcement. The review of abstracts received is planned for the period May and June 2011 and will be carried out by the members of the expert group. After the abstract admission on 30 June all contributors will be informed on their conference status with the deadline for registration/ and full text article submission by 15 September 2011.
