Suspension of St. Petersburg HC player

The EHF Arbitration Tribunal has dealt with the case of Alexander Pyshkin (St. Petersburg HC / RUS).

The EHF Arbitration Tribunal was called together following the direct disqualification of Alexander Pyshkin in the final minute of the match between RK Bosna Sarajevo (BIH) and St. Petersburg HC (RUS.

The game was played in Round 8 of the VELUX EHF Men's Champions League Group Phase on 19 February 2011 in the Dvorana Mirza Delibašić sports hall in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After 59:47 minutes St. Petersburg HC player Alexander Pyshkin received a direct disqualification for an action of unsportsmanlike conduct.

As a result, Alexander Pyshkin has been suspended for three matches of EHF club competitions.

This therefore means that he will not be eligible to play in his team’s next two matches in the VELUX EHF Men's Champions League against SG Flensburg-Handewitt (GER) taking place on 24 February 2011 in St. Petersburg (RUS) and against HC Croatia Osiguranje Zagreb (CRO) taking place on 05 March 2011 in Zagreb (CRO).

Due to the possibility that the club  HC St. Petersburg may have only two more EHF club competition games in this season, one match of his suspension remains and will be carried over to his next EHF club competitions match.
