Serdarusic resigns as Slovenia’s national coach

It ends the period of his double function: As announced on the website of the Slovenian Handball Federation on Wednesday, Noka Serdarusic surprisingly stepped back from being the head coach of the Slovenian men’s national team.

Together with him also team director Roman Pungartnik and Secretary General Tomas Jerzic resigned.

The official press release states that Serdarusic, Pungartnik and Jersic will be irrevocably resigned from their positions officially at the end of September.

"Despite the upcoming EHF EURO 2012 qualification matches against Portugal and the Ukraine at the end of October they will leave. And despite weighing all the pros and contras, they decided that in this present climate of continued disagreements more or less discovered attack and discredit that has already passed the limits of good taste; there appears that theere is no more sense in persevering."

Despite this resignation Serdarusic will remain coach of the Slovenian top club RK Pivovarna Lasko Celje. He will meet his former club THW Kiel in an emotional game of the next round of the VELUX EHF Men’s Champions league in Celje.
