Change in squad sizes

After input from various parties, the EHF Competitions Commission dealt with the issue of the amount of players for National Team Competitions in its regular meeting over the weekend.

After balancing different aspects, it was decided to raise the number of players being used during a match of the EHF EURO 2012 Qualification from 14 to 16 with immediate effect. This decision was taken in the interest of the teams and players.

Therefore a maximum of 16 players is now allowed for the matches of Round 1 and 2 of the EHF EURO 2012 Qualification (27 to 31 October 2010) and subsequent rounds.
