EHF EURO 2012 in Serbia approaching
The next European major men’s handball event is coming up in just under 500 days as the EHF EURO 2012 in Serbia will begin on 17 January 2012.
"We have the full support of Republic of Serbia and have advanced far in the preparations, particularly in infrastructure. In the handball city of Niš the construction of a new sport arena has begun and will open the door for Europe’s best handball players," Bozidar Djurkovic, Secretary General of the Serbian Handball Federation stated.
He welcomes the continent’s best players, officials, fans and handball lovers to Serbia and hopes that all will enjoy the handball fantasy.
Way to Serbia
On 12 April the draw event for the 2012 Men's EHF European Handball Championship took place in Belgrade. The Qualification for the EHF EURO 2012 in Serbia will be carried out with 28 teams in 7 groups of 4 teams each.
The teams will play a total of 6 matches with a home and an away match against each of the other teams in their group. The teams ranked 1st and 2nd of each group will qualify for the EHF EURO 2012 in Serbia.

GROUP 2: Croatia, Spain, Romania, Lithuania
GROUP 3: Poland, Slovenia, Ukraine, Portugal
GROUP 4: Sweden, Slovakia, Montenegro, Israel
GROUP 5: Germany, Iceland, Austria, Latvia
GROUP 6: Norway, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Greece
GROUP 7: Denmark, Russia, Belarus, Switzerland

Round 1: Wednesday or Thursday, 27/28 October 2010
Round 2: Saturday or Sunday, 30/31 October 2010
Round 3: Wednesday or Thursday, 09/10 March 2011
Round 4: Saturday or Sunday, 12/13 March 2011
Round 5: Wednesday or Thursday, 08/09 June 2011
Round 6: Saturday or Sunday, 11/12 June 2011
