GCH and Asobal officially withdraw complaints

At the end of June and beginning of July, the European Handball Federation has received official confirmation on the administrative closure of the complaint GCH vs EHF/IHF as well as on the closure of the complaint Asobal vs Handball Federations RFEBM, EHF and IHF.

The information was sent by the Commission of European Communities, Competition DG, Department of Antitrust: Media and Sports.

This, on the one hand, finalises the conflict between the EHF and the complaining parties; on the other hand, mirrors the positive development in European handball with the integration of the interest groups.

The cooperation with all stakeholders resulted in a motion to be tabled at the EHF Congress at the end of September in Copenhagen, the introduction of the Professional Handball Board with the presence of National Federations, Clubs, Leagues, Players and the EHF.

The idea of the Professional Handball Board is to preserve the unity and the coherence of European Handball and to serve the interest of the various stakeholders to be involved in the opinion exchange and decision making process in order to optimise the future development of handball in Europe.

The EHF underlines the importance of open communication with all parties involved as well as with the European handball community that made it possible to resolve the matter in a satisfying manner for all.
