New bid for 2011 Women’s 17 European Championship

According to the decision made by the 2008 EHF Congress in Austria, the upcoming W17 European Championship was scheduled to take place in Bulgaria.

The Executive Committee of the European Handball Federation dealt with the matter of this Younger Age Category event and decided to release the Bulgarian Handball Federation from its organisational duties.

The Executive Committee came to the conclusion that following the recent short notice withdrawal of the Bulgarian Handball Federation from organising the 2010 YAC Beach Handball European Championships, another withdrawal or severe shortcomings in connection with the event cannot be risked.

The European Handball Federation has turned to its Member Federations and publsihed a new bid for the event. The federations can submit their interest by 20 July 2010.
