Pevafersa Valladolid return to the EHF Champions League next season.
New faces in Valladolid
The Spanish club Pevafersa Valladolid ended up on third position in the ASOBAL, behind Ciudad Real and Barcelona and before Reale Ademar León. Thus they will play in the most important international club handball competition, the EHF Champions League, again.
The team’s coach Juan Carlos Pastor will have to make some changes in the squad as Raul Entrerrios has left the club to play for Barcelona. He will be difficult to replace.
Serbian playmaker Davor Cutura is the chosen solution as a replacement for Entrerrios. Cutura had a strong season for Fraikin BM. Granollers, and the 30 year old is the best moment of his career.
"I think that I can show my best handball here. Pastor is a coach who has revolutionised this sport. This is a great responsibility for me. I am in my best condition and I can help the team with my defence too," Cutura explained when he was introduced as new Valladolid in a press conference.
Four others join Cutura
Norwegian left back Christoffer Rambo scored 17 goals for his Norwegian club IL Runar in this year’s Cup Winner’s Cup.
Spanish pivot Angel Romero transfers from Naturhouse La Rioja (ESP). He is known as one the best line players of the Asobal league.
Young Spaniard Alexis Rodriguez – coming from BM Antequera – and French right winger Guillaume Joli – coming from Chambéry Savoie HB – are other reinforces of Valladolid that will help Pastor in the wings.
Pastor is still looking for a new player for the right wing, then and the squad will be complete. The Spanish coach tries to stick to the same team characteristics as in the last seasons: "We want to keep the spirit of this club. We need a lot of effort and working time."
