The Preliminary Round of the championship in Montenegro took place in Cologne.

The draw for the 2010 Men’s 18 European Championship in Montenegro took place today within the framework of the Meeting of the EHF & National Federations which was held in the Hyatt Regency Cologne, Germany. The 16 teams taking part at the event were divided into four groups as follows:

The Men’s 18 European Championship will start on 12 August 2010, which will be also the day of the official opening ceremony. The preliminary round phase will come to a conclusion on 15 August 2010.
The two top teams from each group will qualify for the main round (places 1 - 8), while the third and fourth placed teams meet in the intermediate round (places 9 -16) to be played on 17 and 18 August 2010.
After the conclusion of these two rounds, cross matches, placement matches, semi-finals and final will be played between 20 and 22 August 2010. A detailed match schedule will be available in due course at www.eurohandball.com.
