Africa’s best joins Viborg

Tunisian international Mounah Chebbah is going to continue her career in Viborg HK. The 27 year old playmaker, who was recently awarded Africa’s best female handball player, is joining the Champions League finalists on a three year contract. She transfers from another Danish league club, Team Esbjerg, where she played two years.

"For me it was always a dream to play in the Danish league, and since I came here, my dream was to play for Viborg," Mounah Chebbah explained, as she was introduced at a press conference in connection with the first leg of the Champions League final between Viborg and Oltchim Valcea.

"I am looking forward to playing in the Champions League with Viborg next season, and to win titles with the club," Chebbah added.

"Already long ago, our head coach Jakob Vestergaard told me that if we could ever succeed in signing Mounah Chebbah he would really appreciate it. I am glad that we have now been able to fulfil his wish," Viborg director Peter Cassøe said.

In Viborg, Mounah Chebbah is seen as the successor to Norwegian international Kristine Lunde Borgersen who is leaving the Danes after this season to join a so far unknown foreign club.
