European Cup game postponed in Poland

The Polish state has declared a week of mourning following the death of President Lech Kaczynski, who died along with 95 others when their plane crashed in Russia on 11 April. As the mourning is observed, no sports events are carried out in Poland this week.

The Women’s Challenge Cup Semi-final second leg between Vistal Laczpol Gdynia and the German Frisch Auf Göppingen, scheduled to take place on Saturday, 17 April in Gdynia, Poland, has been postponed. The game has been rescheduled to 2 May 2010 at 16:00hrs.

The draw for the Final of the Challenge Cup will go on according to schedule on Tuesday, 20 April. The home and away rights of the final will be defined at this draw event, but the name of the second finalist team in the Women’s Challenge Cup will be known only later.

National Team withdraws from tournament

The Polish Men’s National Team was invited for a preparation tournament in Hungary this weekend. The Polish Handball Federation has informed their Hungarian partners that the Polish National Team will not take part in the Pannon Cup.
