Kochetova inspires Dinamo

Dinamo Volgograd suffered their first defeat of the season (22:23) in the Russian Super League a week ago against their main rival Zvezda Zvenigorod on home soil.

However, the south Russians got back on track on Sunday, showing an improved performance to beat third placed Lada 36:27 in Togliatti.

The main pillar of the team, Anna Kochetova had returned to the team after an illness. She currently holds second position in the Champions League top scorer list. She also gave a splendid performance in this match, topping the charts with 15 goals.

The score was added to by left back Tatiana Khmyrova and left winger Elena Avdekova with 5 goals each.

Somewhat surprisingly, Zvezda drew 26:26 on same day in Rostov, allowing Dinamo to increase its lead in the championship. Still Trefilov’s team remains close behind.

Following its important victory in Togliatti, Dinamo is preparing for the home Champions League clash against Romanians Oltchim Vâlcea with great enthusiasm.

The Russians hope to remain in the race for one of the semi final spots with a victory on the coming weekend.
