2010 IHF/EHF Women’s Challenge Trophy

On 19-21 March and 2-4 April 2010 eight teams will convene in two regions to play the 2010 IHF/EHF Women’s Challenge Trophy. The sixth edition of the competition will be hosted by the National Federations of Estonia and Israel.

This edition of the competition is a cooperation event between the International Handball Federation and the European Handball Federation. Both federations share the responsibility of further developing the competition based on the commitment of both federations to continue providing high level events for developing nations.

The European Handball Federation is pleased that competitions will be hosted by Estonia and Israel - two countries with Youth European Championship organisation experience. Now that both countries bring the women’s national teams to the fore, the European Handball Federation will support development by sending game officials from the Young Referee Programme. Also, with the assistance of the EHF Competence Academy and Network, the EHF will organise a course for referees and coaches at each venue.

Final at the EHF EURO 2010

Within the framework of EHF Euro 2010, the winners of both tournaments will meet in DEN/NOR at the Women’s 2010 EHF EURO to play the final match for the 2010 IHF/EHF Women’s Challenge Trophy.
