Györ’s Brazilian left back wants it all this season.
Amorim aims for the finals
Eduarda Amorim aims for the EHF Champions League finals with her club Györ this season. A victory on Saturday would be a great start.
The 23-year old left back player came last year from Kometal Skopje and has already scored 25 CL goals this season. Eurohandball.com talked to the Brazilian international before the important home match against Krim.
eurohandball.com: How is it coming along for you in Györ?
Eduarda Amorim: I am gradually getting used to the style of training and playing here in Györ. I feel very good and am satisfied here, everything works just fine.
eurohandball.com: After a long injury Anita Görbicz will return. How important is that for the team?
Eduarda Amorim: She means a lot to us, as she would mean a lot for every other team. Her return gives us extra help to win the next matches. With Görbicz back, our odds are going up.
eurohandball.com: What are your objectives for this season?
Eduarda Amorim: This season I expect to reach the finals. It is always my personal aim to reach the finals and to get the Gold medal. This makes Saturdays match against Krim the most important part of this plan currently.
eurohandball.com: The Slovenian champions only lost one CL match so far, their last one against Hypo. They were the first team to qualify for the Main Round. How are your chances against that opponent?
Eduarda Amorim: They are an active and very dangerous team, bearing in mind that most of the important players have been playing together for a long time. Krim has showed an excellent performance so far and I expect a very tough match. Well, a match on Champions League Main Round level.
