Kiel and Sweden legend promotes EHF FINAL4 at European Championships.
Kiel and Sweden handball legend, Stefan Lövgren took a break this week from his TV job at the EHF European Championship in Austria, where he is commentating for Swedish television, to promote the EHF Champions League FINAL4.
Lövgren, who retired from his professional handball career last season, is the EHF FINAL4 Ambassador, a new departure for the former Kiel star after appearing in countless EHF Champions League games including no fewer than four finals.
Asked about the event, Stefan Lövgren, commented: “All the Champions League players I’ve spoken to want to be at the FINAL4 in Cologne, their biggest fear is that they won’t qualify and will miss out on what is going to be an amazing weekend.
12,000 tickets have already been sold for the event four months before the first whistle has been blown in the LANXESS arena in Cologne. Europe’s top teams will meet on 29 and 30 May in front of over 19,000 people, playing semi-finals on Saturday and the third and fourth play-off and Champions League final on Sunday.
Vice President of the EHF, Jean Brihault, was upbeat about the new event, he said: “There is no doubt that it will be a huge success. We are sure that fans and players will want to be part of the event in Cologne.”
The next phase of ticket sales begins following the completion of the EHF EURO 2010 at the beginning of February 2010. Tickets and VIP tickets will be available via the event’s official website at ehfFinal4.com.
