KIF Kolding have managed to extend the contracts of three important Danish players.
Danish champions hold on to key players
Danish champions KIF Kolding, who currently have a great chance to qualify for the knock-out rounds from Group D of the Men’s Champions League, have managed to hold on to three of their key players.
Bo Spellerberg and Kasper Søndergaard, both in the Danish squad for the upcoming EURO 2010 in Austria, have both agreed to stay with the club. So has Boris Schnuchel, 34 year old veteran on the left wing.
30 year old Bo Spellerberg, who joined Kolding in the summer 2002, has extended his contract for three years, with an option for two further years. This keeps the strong left back in the club at least until the summer of 2015.
“Not only am I happy to play in Kolding, where the club suits me fine. It is also perfect here for my girlfriend Louise and our little daughter. Really interesting projects are going on in Kolding at the moment: The extension of our hall and a growing number of sponsors, as well as other things. I am happy being a part of all that, it fulfils all my ambitions here in Kolding,” Bo Spellerberg said.
Turned down foreign clubs
In spite of having received offers from several foreign clubs, 28 year old right back Kasper Søndergaard Sarup has chosen to stay another year with Kolding. The player who joined in January 2007 will stay at least until the summer of 2011.
“I feel that the Danish league is so strong right now. I get under pressure in every single game. That suits my present ambitions very much,” Kasper Søndergaard said as the extension of his contract was announced.
Boris Schnuchel who has been with Kolding since 1997 has extended his contract for three years, so that it is now valid until the summer of 2013.
