Danish top club FCK Håndbold is the only club to have their men as well as their women in the EHF Champions League. On the first Saturday of 2010 both celebrated a triumph.

Goalkeeper Kasper Hvidt, Danish cup winner. The women as well as the men won the Danish Cup, as the finals for both genders were played in front of 4,752 spectators in the NRGI Arena of Aarhus. In both cases it was the first time FCK won the Danish Cup.

First, the women’s team of FCK, who are leading the Danish league with maximum points, defeated SK Aarhus 23-22 after a close match. It wasn't decided before FCK goalkeeper Cecilie Leganger saved a penalty after the match time had expired.

"This is what we have been training for ever since I joined FCK. Our main goal is still to win the Champions League, but this is a big step on the road, and it has just made us hungry for more," FCK coach Anja Andersen said after the first Danish title for the FCK women.

Thereafter the men's final between FCK and BSV saw recent number two facing number one of the Danish league. After an intense and equal encounter the Copenhagen side was one up after the 60 minutes, with a score of 31-30 in favour of FC København.

"We had the upper hand during the last minutes of the match. We had been building this up throughout the first 57 minutes, and that became deciding," Danish national team goalkeeper Kasper Hvidt from FCK said after the close final.

"It was the first of our three goals for this season we achieved here. We also aim to go on from our group in the Champions League and to qualify for the finals of the Danish championship," Hvidt added.
