2009 IHF/EHF Men’s Challenge Trophy

From the 30th October – 1st November 2009, the 6th edition of the Men’s Challenge Trophy hosted by the National Handball Federations of Moldova and Malta will take place. Due to the success of the holding two regional competitions for the first time in 2007, the EHF once again took the decision to implement this method of competition as this way of working proved beneficial both for the participants and the organisers respectively.

This edition of the competition is also a cooperation event between the International Handball Federation and the European Handball Federation. Both federations now vigorously share the responsibility surrounding the further development of the competition, signifying the commitment to continue producing a top event for the developing nations.

For the very first time an EHF top event will be taking place in Moldova; Malta on the other hand is celebrating the return of the competition after successfully hosting the third edition of the event in 2003.
