Vienna, 27.10.2009 – The European Handball Federation’s online television platform brings handball fans something new this week with two live matches from the DHB Supercup in Germany.

Viewers used to their weekly diet of top class handball action from the men’s and women’s EHF Champions League on ehfTV.com can watch two matches live from the LANXESS arena, Cologne, Germany on Thursday 29 October.

The event, organised by the German Handball Federation, will feature four top level national teams including the hosts, Germany, European Champions, Denmark, as well as Norway and Sweden.

The four sides will compete over three match days in Cologne, the Gerry Weber Stadium in Westfalen and the TUI Arena in Hannover as they prepare for the men’s European Handball Championship, EURO 2010, which takes place in Austria from 19 to 31 January 2010.

The live matches will be available online to viewers around the world at the following times:

29 October 18.15 Sweden versus Denmark
29 October 20.30 Germany versus Norway
(All times CET)

The two matches will be shown exclusively online at ehfTV.com, an important development for handball fans in Germany in particular, where neither match is scheduled to be shown live on German television.

Up to 10,000 spectators are expected for the match in the LANXESS arena in Cologne, one of Europe’s largest event arenas and venue for the 2009/2010 Men’s EHF Champions League FINAL4, which will place on 29 and 30 May 2010.

ehfTV’s coverage of the EHF Champions League also continues this weekend with three live matches from the women’s competition as the men’s sides take a break.
