Buducnost show CL form

Buducnost T-Mobile defeated Hypo in Podgorica 30:28 (13:14), in the Regional League game, which was a Champions League “preview” match even if the two teams will not play in the same CL group. However, the game was important for both teams because it was the dress rehearsal before the start of the strongest European club competition.

Coach Zsiga is confident before the CL startHypo played better in the first half, leading by three goals in the 22nd minute (11:8), but the home side managed to reduce the difference to one goal at half time. In the second half Buducnost were better and the newcomer Ana Djokic scored eight goals in the second 30 minutes. The home team took the important victory for the moral, although coach Gyula Zsiga cannot be satisfied with the game played in the first half. But having in mind that Budućnost were without the injured Sanela Knezovic and Milena Knezevic, the victory was very important.

“There were many mistakes in the first half, but in the second half our rival got tired. Defence was not as good as I wanted to be, but we played better in attack. Unfortunately, we did not do well in the middle of the court. We still have a problem of not taking advantage of powerplay situations. We need to improve here and I hope we will have enough time before the Champions League start,” said Gyula Zsiga, coach of Budućnost T-Mobile.

Ana Djokic and Jovanka Radicevic both scored eight goals, while Katarina Bulatovic added seven. In the guest team the best player was the Brazilian Alexandra Do Nascimento with 15 (!) goals.

Maybe this will sound bit pretentious, but I expected this victory. We worked hard and results show it. I’m glad that we managed to present ourselves before our audience in such a good light and I hope that we will continue with victories in the Champions League as well. With this game and with this fighting spirit we can play against any team,“ added Ana Djokic, pivot of Budućnost T-Mobile.
