Croatian champions will visit CL debutants in Bergen. No secret: Zagreb count on victory.

Zagreb start in Bergen

Despite players leaving (Vori and Duvnjak) and injuries (Horvat), Zagreb have big ambitions this CL season. The team of Senjanin Maglajlija and Mirko Bašić aim for a second place in Group C

The task of Basic during the intense preparations was to find alternatives for Vori and Duvnjak. Acording to coach Senjanin Maglajlija, they did it:

“Norwegian international Løke would be good solution for Vori. He is excellent in attack and he made great improvements in defence as well. We also have Lubej and Marić for the same position.

"Duvnjak could play on all positions, so we had much tougher task in replacing him. Jakov Gojun and Josip Valčić will do it, together with Ivano Balić. Džomba and Balić are well and ready; the entire team is more experienced and we are looking forward to beginning of new CL season.“

Victory in first round against Beregen will not satisfy Maglajlija; his plans go way beyond that:

“We are on higher level then Fyllingen, Alingsas and FCK. Ciudad Real and HSV are favourites, but despite that our goal will be winning second place in group. For now, our plan is to win against Fyllingen and Alingsas, to play good match against HSV and to try to defeat Ciudad Real in Zagreb Arena.”
