Six new players will join the Slovenian champions after a marvellous season.
Changes in Gorenje
The Slovenian national champion, Gorenje Velenje, Champions League participant next season, will start preparation for the upcoming season at the beginning of August. They almost finished building their team for the 2009/10 season.
Gorenje won the Slovenian Championship for the first time in the history of the club and will return to the Champions League. After a very successful year, they made many changes in the team.Several players left the squad of Ivica Obrvan': Jure Dobelšek, Sebastjan Sovič, Aleš Sirk, Sregio Datukashvili, Yurij Gromiko and Marko Oštir.
There was a great relief for Gorenje as the Slovenian Federation decided that pivot Miha Žvižej is free player (after Celje Pivovarna Laško said he was still their player). In addition to Žvižej, Dino Bajram, Rok Šimič, Klemen Cehte, Mitja Nosan and Jaka Ferkulj will also move to Velenje. The squad will be completed with young players.
