2010 Men’s European Handball Championship

 

Current preparations for the Final Tournament of the 2010 Men’s European Championship are well under way. This top sporting event will take place in four venues across Austria from 19 – 31 January 2010. The draw for the group matches took place on 24 June, 2009 and the results were published via the EHF news service (no. 83). This is available to download from www.eurohandball.com.

Playing System

Based on the results in the preliminary round matches, the teams ranked 1 – 3 in each group will progress to the main round. The results from the matches against the teams which also qualify for the main round remain valid for the ranking of the main round. Each team in the main round plays against every team which has qualified from the parallel group (A – Graz and B – Linz, C – Innsbruck and D – Wiener Neustadt). The finals and placement matches will take place in Vienna.

Media Accreditation

The accreditation procedure for media representatives starts on 1 October 2009 (deadline for EHF EURO 2010 accreditation is 30 November 2009). All applications for EHF EURO 2010 accreditation should be made via the Media Corner section within the Euro Events website: http://www.ehf-euro.com/.

Ticketing and Further Information

EHF EURO 2010 tickets have been available online since March 2009.The second phase of ticketing has commenced and the online system is currently being updated after the draw event. From Tuesday 14th July, tickets will be obtainable in accordance with the exact seating arrangement within the chosen venue for the specified matches. The ticketing website can be accessed via the official event website http://www.ehf-euro.com/.
