W17 European Championship in Serbia

The cities of Nis and Vrnjacka Banja in Serbia will host the sixteen Women’s 17 national teams who made it through the Qualification Tournament to the final tournament of the W17 ECh being played out from the 25 June – 5 July 2009.

The YAC competitions organised by the EHF continue to be the most prolific platform for the rising stars of handball. There is a lot on the line for these players, only one team can take the 2009 W17 title, however the national teams ranked 1 & 2 will automatically go to the W19 ECh in 2011 and the winner of the W17 ECh will directly qualify for the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010; but there is also the question of just which European teams will qualify for the Women’s U18 World Championship event in 2010 hosted by the Dominican Republic.
