Round 9 proved to be decisive in the run for the EURO places. Thirteen places are taken for the EHF EURO 2010 in Austria, the last three teams will qualify this weekend.

Group by group

Germany are the only team with a 100% record (photo Heuberger)Sweden had already qualified by winning Group 1. With the victory of Poland on Wednesday, the second position will be decided at the Poland vs Romania game on Saturday. Romania reach the EURO with a victory, Poland need at least a draw.

From Group 2, Russia have qualified together with Serbia.

Iceland and Norway have qualified from Group 3. The two teams made two draws at their direct encounters. If they finish the group with the same number of points, the first place will be decided by the goal difference from all matches in the group. Iceland are in a favourable position in this respect.

Croatia have qualified for the EURO from Group 4. If they take a point from Greece on Sunday, they will win the group. The Slovakia vs Hungary game will decide the second position - Slovakia need a victory, Hungary a draw for a EURO place.

The German team won Group 5. In Israel they can secure a 100% performance as the only team in the Qualification. Slovenia and Belarus will meet on Sunday to clash for the second place of Group 5. However, Belarus would need a minimum of 13-goal victory in Minsk.

Netherlands were near, but Ukraine prevailed on ThursdayFrance are leading Group 6 ahead of the Czech Republic. The two teams have already qualified. France will win the group if the two teams finish with equal number of points as they have a better result from the direct encounter of the teams.

Group 7 is also decided. Spain won the group in any case, Ukraine are second. Though the Dutch team were fighting for a EURO place all the way, the seven-goal Ukrainian victory on Thursday decided the EURO place.
