Ciudad prepare for a the “Asobal Final”

The Spanish handball friends are looking forward to the CL Finals with great excitement. However, they will also turn their attention towards another big match of Ciudad Real coming up this weekend.

New motivation for ZormanThe team of Dujshebaev will meet FC Barcelona on Sunday. A Ciudad victory would seal the Asobal title in the Quijote Arena as they are now two points ahead of the Catalonians. Barcelona would need a four-goal victory in order to claim the title.

The guests are apparently in good form. They have recently beaten Ademar Leon at home and they kept their chances of alive. The team of coach Pascual were stronger in the last moment of an interesting game.

Ciudad have also taken two points from Granollers, so everything will be decided by the Spanish derby on Sunday.

Slovenians leaving Ciudad

The manager of Ciudad Real, Luis Miguel Lopez, has confirmed that the two Slovenian national players of the club will play for Celje next season. Lopez explained that this decision had individual motivations and remembered that both players arrived from the Slovenian club before:

“There are only individual considerations behind their decisions. They wanted to return to Slovenia. The situation of Zorman was also carefully evaluated. He is looking for more possibility to play”.

Lopez talked about the future as well.

“The team will fight for the same objectives. We will make sure to keep the level of the team. The roster will include less players: we have only 16 players at the moments and not 18 – including Aginagalde, Evdokimov and Urios.”

The Slovenian players leaving the club, Zorman and Pajovic, also commented the news.

“I am very happy for this decision, because I will have new motivation to improve,” said Pajovic.

Zorman remembered the golden era of Celje:

“Celje is the best club of Slovenia and we want to help to overcome the little crisis they are going through”.
