Oltchim's key player, Steluta Luca talks about the difficult position of her team before the Viborg game.
Regained optimism
Though the Romanian supporters created wonderful atmosphere for their team at the first leg of the CL semi-finals, Oltchim Valcea suffered a surprisingly clear defeat from Viborg.
The 28-34 at home puts Oltchim in a difficult position. One of the most experienced Romanian players, right back Steluta Luca, talks to Eurohandball.com right on the way to Viborg. She tells us about the objectives for the return game.
Eurohandball.com: The game on Sunday must have been a disappointment. What is the mood inside the team today?
Steluta Luca: It was a terrible game for us and we have talked about it inside the team. We are over it and now we are travelling in a good mood.
Eurohandball.com: Have you ever been in a similarly difficult position during your long career?
Steluta Luca: No, we have never lost by six goals at home before. We have many experienced players, but we do not know what’s happened at home.
Eurohandball.com: With so many experienced players, how can you stand up in this situation?
Steluta Luca: Our defence did not work at home and we want to improve there. Anyway, we prepared for the game with optimism. We have to play much better and then we will see what happens. I know that Viborg does not lack experience either, but we can even win the game. You never know…
