Hypo Niederösterreich turned to the EHF with a letter pointing out a match situation at the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals.
Enquiry rejected
Following the 1st leg of the semi-finals in the Women’s EHF Champions League between Hypo Niederösterreich (AUT) and Győri AUDI ETO KC (HUN), the home club Hypo Niederösterreich turned to the EHF with a letter. The document signed by the club on 13 April 2009 pointed out a match situation involving two players, Anita Görbicz (Győri ETO) and Tímea Tóth (Hypo Noe).
The EHF has carefully dealt with the matter and informed the club Hypo Niederösterreich as follows:
“As clearly stated in article 8.2 of the EHF Arbitration Regulations, decisions and actions taken by the referees on the playing court are factual and shall be final. In the present case, the referees have decided upon the whole situation; this is to be regarded as a referees’ decision on facts which therefore cannot be examined or reviewed by the EHF arbitration bodies.”
Therefore, no further steps will be taken in the matter by the EHF.
