This weekend saw qualification games all over the continent and 15 teams secured their places for the W17 European Championship.

W17 European Championship Qualification

The Qualification for the 2009 Women's 17 European Championship took place over the weekend. The final tournament is planned to take place in Skopje and Ohrid, FYR Macedonia, from 25 June to 5 July 2009. The organising federation is qualified directly for the final tournament. 15 teams qualified via the qualification for the participation in the final tournament:

Group 1-7: 2 teams qualified out of each group – Russia, Sweden, Spain, Romania, Slovakia, Germany, Norway, Serbia, Croatia, Netherlands, Hungary, Czech Republic, Denmark, Lithuania

Group 8: 1 team qualified out of the group – France

The draw for the final tournament will be carried out on Tuesday 24 March 2009 in Vienna together with the draw of the Women’s European Cup semifinals and Women’s EHF EURO 2010 Qualification. The procedure for the draw will be published in due time.

Other Younger Age Category events

The qualification for the 2009 Women’s 19 European Championship Qualification will take place from 10 to 12 April 2009. The final tournament will be played in Győr, Pápa and Szombathely, Hungary (14 to 23 August 2009).

The qualification Europe for the M-U21 World Championship in Egypt (6 to 19 August 2009) will be played from 10 to 12 April 2009.
