Cadenas leaves Barcelona

After Barcelona’s 30-27 defeat in Valladolid, Manuel Cadenas has been fired from Barcelona.

László Nagy and his team mates will have to play for the new and the old coachThe Spanish coach confirmed last week that he might not continue at the Catalonians next season. The Spanish club has made a decision: Xavi Pascual, assistant coach of Cadenas, will substitute him.

The change on the bench comes just a week before the Champions League duties. The most important objective of the club for the rest of the season is to secure a place in the CL for next year.

Xavi Pascual: It’s a dream come true

Though the situation of the new coach is definitely difficult, this will be a great opportunity for an inexperienced coach to guide a big club.

Pascual has been working for Barcelona for four years and he was also player of the team. He is motivated:

“It’s a dream come true. Every Barcelona fan dreams about having the chance to train or play for this club. It is reality now. I have faith in my players and in my colleagues in the technical staff. I’m sure that we will do good things together”.

The agreement between Pascual and Barcelona is valid until the end of the season.

“We planned that I will lead the team until the end of the season. This is a task to give stability to the team and reach the objectives of the club. We must fight for the title that we can win,” said Pascual at his presentation.
