The coach of FCK praises Buducnost as FCK say goodbye to the CL.
Andersen hopes to come back
The 12 goals of Tanja Milanovic and the 25 saves of Cecilie Leganger were not enough for FCK Håndbold to win a game in Podgorica and reach the main round. Coach Anja Andersen talks to Eurohandball.com about their goodbye to the CL.
Anja Andersen: I want to congratulate Buducnost. They deserved to win the game, because the home team played better. The game was decided after the first ten minutes.
Eurohandball.com: Why do you say so when you were leading most of the first half?
Anja Andersen: I know my players and I felt very early in the game how much I can count on each of them. I tried to win the game with those players, but we were playing not only against Buducnost, also against ourselves. We were simpy not able to overcome that and that’s why we finished with a defeat. Buducnost has a very young and talented team with a big future ahead.
Eurohandball.com: Before the match you said that Podgorica is the most difficult away court in Europe. What do you think about the atmosphere in the “Moraca” hall?
Anja Andersen: Buducnost has such a great crowd. I wish I grew up here and played handball in the “Moraca” hall, because every player and every coach dreams about this kind of support. I hope next year I will have the chance to come back to Podgorica.
Eurohandball.com: Only third place in the group. Is this a failure for FCK?
Anja Andersen: Our objective for this season was to reach the final of the play-offs in Denmark and to qualify for the CL. Regarding the Champions League, I love this competiton, and we must reinforce our team. I hope to win the CL next season.
