The Croatian international goalkeeper leaves Hungary and signs for her former club.
Knezovic returns to Buducnost
Sanela Knezovic is back in Buducnost T-Mobile, and she will be a big reinforcement for the champions of Montenegro. The Croatian international signed a year and a half contract with the team she played for between 2004 and 2007 before she went to Dunaferr. After a year and a half, she agreed with the Hungarian club to end her contract….
“I’m happy to be back, because I think about Buducnost as my club where I spent beautiful moments in three years. This is the first time I am going back to a club, but I stayed in contact with the players, the club and the friends from Podgorica. I didn’t forget the great fans either, the best in Europe, and I can’t wait to be again on the court of the “Moraca” hall.
“I have to say that this time spent in Dunaújváros was extremely positive for me. I got to know a different way of thinking and working. They have a completely different mentality there. Dunaferr was always a big club and it will be a big club in the future despite all problems they are having at the moment. The Hungarian championship is a really strong competition and these years in Dunaferr were great experience for me,“ she said.
The 29-years old goalkeeper followed the matches of Buducnost T-Mobile, and she believes that there will be no problem to fit into the team.
“I’m proud of the results of Buducnost in the Champions League. It’s not easy to gain victories in such a hard competition. I know almost all players, because we played together when I was in Buducnost and it will be a pleasure to work with them again.
“I didn’t have a chance to work with the coach Gyula Zsiga yet, but I heard many nice things about him. I believe we will have a very good collaboration," she added.
“Buducnost showed their potential, they played very well so far and I believe that my new club can go into the main round. I am convinced we can make it all the way to the top. We already won Cup Winners’ Cup together, maybe time has come for the Champions League,” added Sanela Knezovic.
