Ciudad back on top

Ciudad Real won the Spanish top game in the last round of the Asobal. The team of Dujshebaev took the two points from Barcelona. The victory means that Ciudad are now on top of the table in Spain.

Ciudad lost two games at the beginning of the season, but they regained the first place after winning against Portland and Barcelona as well.

The game played on the Barcelona court in the Palau is a strong signal that Ciudad are in great form today. The guests took the lead from the very beginning of the game and played very good handball. Sterbik also gave his contribution, especially in the first half.

The Serbian goalkeeper saved 13 shots before the break and Barcelona were unable to beat him. Ciudad were leading by four after 30 minutes.

The break did not bring much change. Barcelona tried to come back into the game, but it was not possible.

Rutenka was dangerous in attack and Ciudad and Sterbik did not give a chance for Cadenas team. The final 26-29 result proved that Ciudad are favourites for winning the title again.
