Golic: Bosna closer to the top

Eurohandball.com talks to Nebojsa Golic, middle back of Bosna Sarajevo, who is the best scorer of his team. He expects tough matches against Doukas and GOG, which will be decisive for taking the second place of Group B.

Golic is among the most important Bosna playersEurohandball.com: You played many years in the Bundesliga. Can you compare Bundesliga and the Bosnian league?

Nebojsa Golic: I’m very happy to play for Bosna because it is the best team of the Bosnian league. But we can’t compare this league to Bundesliga. Bosna try to be close to European standards and I’m convinced that we will soon get close to the best teams of Europe.

Eurohandball.com: It is known that teams such as Zagreb don’t have real rivals in their domestic leagues. Can you prepare for the tough CL games in the domestic league?

Nebojsa Golic: Our league is getting stronger with every day. The clubs invest more and more money and foreign players arrive. In addition, there is a remarkable work done with young players. We don’t need to be worried about the future.

Obviously, quality depends on a stable financial background. You need money to work with young players too. The most important thing is that every year the amount of handball investments increase. Handball is not an expensive sport and I’m convinced it will continue to grow.

Eurohandball.com: Bosnia will fight for the second place of the group with GOG. Most likely everything will be decided at the game Bosna vs GOG…

Nebojsa Golic: GOG are still far away. First we need to defeat the Greek team away, which will not be easy either. Then we can prepare for the match against the Danes. I must admit that I was impressed by the atmosphere in Odense and I only hope that our fans will also create a great atmosphere in “Skenderija” for the GOG game.
