Szeged coach Vladan Matic is far from being optimistic before the away game against Löwen. Five key players will be missing...
No illusions
Szeged will visit Rhein Neckar Löwen this weekend. In theory, this would be the last chance for the Hungarians to make a step towards the main round, but coach Vladan Matic is not optimistic. Five key players will be missing and young talents will replace them in Eppelheim.
Vladan Matic: It will not be easy. We only have 12 healthy players including two or three from the youth squad. We will have two goalkeepers in the team and only seven experienced handballers for the game against Löwen.
Eurohandball.com: Who are the injured?
Vladan Matic: Nenadic, Stamate, Laluska, Andjelkovic and Zivelj. I believed that with the last three of them in the team we could fight back for our defeat on home court, but now we cannot have illusions.
We will play against a very strong team, a very expensive team too. The won in Szeged and probably they prepare for the same at home too.
Eurohandball.com: How can you prepare your team for this game?
Vladan Matic: We would have a chance with a complete roster, but now it will be a chance for the young players to gain some international experience. I believe that we can only go for victory against Plock at home, which will be important to reach the Cup Winners’ Cup. We will try to reach a good result there.
