Celje sign 35-year old Branko Bedekovič in the left back position.
Bedekovič in Celje
Just a week before the Champions League season, the Slovenian champions and former Champions League winners have many problems with injured players. The worst is the situation in the left back position where Miladin Kozlina and Mirsad Terzić are not ready yet. It is a question whether they would recover for the first game, Celje against Chambery this weekend.
New coach Tone Tiselj quickly reacted and brought the experienced Branko Bedekovič to his team. The 35-year old player is familiar with Celje where he played from 1999 to 2002. In the meantime the right-handed player spent long time in Gorenje. Last year he was in Zagreb, this summer he joined Bosna Sarajevo, but he left for personal reasons.
Celje were earlier testing the Russian Valery Mgjakov, but did not sign him. Also Tomas Reznicek has problems, while goalkeeper Gorazd Škof left Celje. The two goalkeepers will be Aljoša Rezar and Aljoša Čudič.
