EHF Marketing GmbH announces new two-year partnership with Interwetten

Vienna, 17 September 2008 – EHF Marketing GmbH (EHFM), the marketing arm of the European Handball Federation (EHF), is proud to announce the sealing of a two-year partnership deal with one of the market leaders in online betting services, Interwetten. EHF Marketing sets great importance on working closely with high-profile partners to fulfil the potential of European club handball, by positioning the various competitions firmly on the market and investing in the continuous development of these products. The announced partnership underlines the Interwetten commitment to EHF competitions, in particularly the EHF club competitions, with its name being connected to them through a multitude of channels over the next two-year-period.

The company Interwetten is no stranger to the sport of handball, especially to European club competitions. The company worked closely with EHF Marketing GmbH in connection with the 2007/2008 EHF Champions League, in particularly the latter and decisive stages of the season. EHF Marketing Managing Director, Peter Vargo, welcomes such a highly reputable market leader to the EHF Family, “The signing of this partnership is an underlining statement of the company’s affinity and commitment to the club handball competitions in Europe. Last season proved that both EHFM and Interwetten share in their goal to present fast-moving, modern, highly-dynamic products to the sporting market. We feel that through these common goals and visions, both the EHF club competition products and those of Interwetten can work successfully in cohesion with each other. We are very much looking forward to the results that this partnership promises to bring with it. ”

The contract includes advertising packages, where Interwettenwill be prominently placed in selected handball arenas throughout Europe. This includes key EHF Men’s and Women’s EHF Champions League matches throughout the season, including the group phase and later the main round. Interwetten will also be present in other EHF club competitions: EHF Cup, Cup Winners’ Cup and Challenge Cup. The path is also open for the online entertainment company to put its name to further club competitions as of 2009.

In the initial stages of the partnership, Interwetten will be the key partner of the newly created EHF streaming platform at ehfTV.com (starting October 2008). The 2008/2009 season will see high-demand matches streamed live, bringing EHF handball to a wide-audience in guaranteed standards of quality.

CEO of Interwetten, Mr. Thomas Daubek, is proud to have the company’s name connected to that of the European Handball Federation, “We have observed the developments in the EHF club competitions for some seasons now and believe that the EHF club products have an enormous potential.
