Igor Kos: Ribera takes care of every detail

Eurohandball.com talks to Igor Kos, reinforcement of Ademar Leon. The 30-year old handballer played for Celje last season. Before that Kos played for Zagreb, Chambery, Creteil and Flensburg.

Kos will play for AdemarWith powerful shots and good defensive play, the Croatian will be a big help for the team of Jordi Ribera.

Eurohandball.com: You will play for Ademar. Why was the Leon offer so attractive?

Igor Kos: Ademar are one of the best handball clubs in the world. It is normal for an ambitious player to take this kind of opportunity.

Eurohandball.com: What are the first impressions about your new team?

Igor Kos: Well, Ademar play attractive handball, they are very strong technically and tactically. The team changed a lot comparing to last season. There are many new players and we will need time to put the team together. There are no “stars“, but we have collective strength. Most important thing is that all the players work very hard.

Eurohandball.com: And your new coach?

Igor Kos: We work a lot because Jordi Ribera is a coach who takes care of every detail. Every player knows exactly what his job is. I find his playing system excellent because it allows fast adaptation for new players.

Eurohandball.com: Who are the favourites in Group H?

Igor Kos: Ademar and Montpellier, but I have to mention Amicitia too. They are a very good team. The teams reaching the next round will carry the points gained, so, it will be very important to play well at home as well as in away matches – and collect points.

Eurohandball.com: Ademar have four Croatian players this season, Alilovic, Buntic, Bicanic and Kos?

Igor Kos: It happened that four of us signed for Ademar. I have to say that the team welcomed us very nicely. We have everything we need here and since there are four of us we practically feel like we are at home in Croatia.

Eurohandball.com: What are your expectations from the new season?

Igor Kos: I expect my team to play good and also attractive handball. I expect our fans to enjoy the matches, support us and that we all enjoy the job.
