Greek victory and Serbian second place in the Nis group.
Ormi Patras to Estella, Naisa to Copenhagen
On the opening of the Nis tournament, Ormi Patras defeated Naisa by 27:21 (15:12) and secured the first place of the group.
The Greek goalkeeper Faca made 15 saves; Radchenko scored 8 goals and Kazaki 7. On the other side, Stefanovic scored 5 and Filipovic scored 4 goals.
Coach Svetislav Jovanovic Beli was not satisfied with the performance of his team after the first match: “I was afraid of the first match. We made too many mistakes. We have to take this defeat seriously and to concentrate on the following matches.”
Zlatko Petronijevic, coach of Ormi Patras, had more reason to be happy after the match: “We were prepared for tough match. I have to admit that Naisa helped us by committing a great number of technical mistakes. I hope that my team – together with Naisa – will qualify for QT 2.”
Indeed, Naisa concentrated on the two last two matches and defeated Madeira (25:21) and Amsterdam (32:26). Ormi Patras also won against Amsterdam (25:24) and Madeira (31:28). Madeira defeated Amsterdam (22:21) and took the third place in Nis.
As the first ranked team, Ormi Patras will travel to Estella and play in Group 1 of QT 2 with Itxako, Podravka Vegeta and Lepzig.
The Serbian Champions will be placed in Group 4 of QT 2 in Copenhagen. Besides Naisa, there will be FCK, Dunaferr and Motor Zaporozhye.
