CO Zagreb's key player comments the draw results.
Vori: “I respect Löwen the most”
After Croatia osiguranje Zagreb was put in Group H with Pick Szeged, Wisla and winner of qualification match Dudelange vs Rhein-Neckar Löwen, nobody is happy in Croatia with the draw.
Croatian pivot, Igor Vori, expects a hard job in CL group matches:
“We have an extremely hard group with no weak teams, but I’m optimistic and I see Zagreb going through.”
Vori is specially impressed by Löwen. He expects the Cup Winners’ Cup finalists to qualify for the group matches and to be dangerous opponents just as other two teams:
“There are no favourites in our group, but I respect the Germans most. They have 14 international players, Fritz, Jurasik and others. Szeged are together with Veszprém in the top of Hungarian handball and Wisla are very dangerous team that we must not underestimate.”
End of carrier for Kaleb and Sola
After long thinking, left winger Niksa Kaleb decided to end his carrier. The same is true about legendary goalkeeper Vlado Sola. Both of them lived the best moments of Croatian handball by winning Olympic and World Championship gold medals. They will be remembered among the best Croatian handball players ever.
Zagreb waiting for Balic, Valcic and Alilovic
First reinforcement of Zagreb for next season was Slovenian Ognjen Backovic. Negotiations with Ivano Balic, Tonci Valcic and Mirko Alilovic are still going on. All three of them are expected to sign in near future.
