Leon celebrate triumph of the season

Leon are still celebrating the victory against THW Kiel. The special atmosphere of Leon Sports Palace helped Ademar to secure one of the most important triumphs of the season. The Leon fans witnessed a wonderful game and they are already dreaming about the semi-finals. Coach Jordi Ribera is happy for the victory that could only be achieved with the help of the fans.

“It is very important for us that our arena was such a hot cauldron. The fans gave us a lot and supported us in the difficult moments. This atmosphere and the team made it possible for us to play this good game. We need more things than good players to win matches like this. The fans make the most difficult things easier.”

The Spanish coach invented a new tactics against Kiel, which worked very effectively. The Leon defence was also fundamental in the triumph.

“We had to play a game with a low number of goals. They are used to score a lot of goals every game and we had to stop them playing this kind of handball. The work of our defence and the goalkeeper were very good. That Kiel scored only 24 goals in Leon was very important for us,” said Jordi Ribera.

Ademar president, Juan Arias, was really proud of the performance of his team:

“I am very happy for many reasons. First of all, for the fans. They created a very good atmosphere. I’m happy for the coach and the team as well. They fought a lot and have beaten a great club such as Kiel”.

Kiel coach Serdarusic, agreed with Ribera and Arias. He was not surprised about the defeat in Leon:

“We know that it is very difficult to win in Leon. I was in Leon before and the atmosphere is very special. We did not play a good match. If you play a bad game, it is probable that you lose the match. So, it was not a surprise for me”.
