The Croatian international will return to his former club on Sunday as Flensburg will be playing for their first victory in the Main Round.
Lackovic returns to Zagreb
Luckily for the German handball fans, the above title does not mean that the Croatian back will join Croatia Osiguranje Zagreb – not yet at least. Blazenko Lackovic will return with his team, SG Flensburg-Handewitt, and will face Croatian Champion in the 3rd match of Group 3.
After two rounds played, it is clear that Hamburg are favourites for reaching the first place. However, the others, especially Croatia Osiguranje Zagreb, will still try to stop the North German side from taking the first place that means semi-finals. The Croats have a simple plan: to win all home matches and take a few points from away. With the same performance as shown against Portland, Zagreb can defeat Flensburg at home and continue their battle.
Busy Flensburg
On the other hand Flensburg desperately need to win in Zagreb, which would be very tough task for them. Especially knowing that Jensen is not completely healthy and he could not even play against Kiel on Wednesday.
Patient and focused
Zagreb are waiting for Flensburg patiently. Without extreme pressure on them, the Croatians are totally focused on this important match. Lino Cervar can be satisfied that Somic and Kaleb are completely healthy and the Croatian team had the entire week to prepare for the next CL match because with no huge tasks in the domestic league similar to those of Flensburg. And the most important: Cervar will have all the players at his disposal on Sunday.
The match Croatia Osiguranje Zagreb vs. SG Flensburg Handewitt will be played in Zagreb on Sunday at 16:00. The referees will be Vaclav Kohout and Petr Novak from Czech Republic. HRT 2 and Eurosport Germany will broadcast the game live.
