Signe Pedersen (pictured) leaves Slagelse to focus on her studies. Louise Pedersen can replace the right winger.
Third player leaving Slagelse
Katarina Bulatovic and Anja Obradovic left Champions League winners, Slagelse DT, for Montenegrin champions, T-Mobile Budocnost, before Christmas – as Eurohandball.com could report earlier. After the two stars, also a third player is leaving the Danish champions now.
This time it is the Danish right winger Signe Pedersen. Slagelse agreed to terminate her contract with immediate effect.
“Signe wants to concentrate 100% on her studies and we chose to accept her wish,” Slagelse’s head coach and sports director, Anja Andersen, said about the former GOG Svendborg TGI and FCK player’s leave.
Ambitions still unchanged
The loss may not be so big for Slagelse after all, as the club got a highly competent right winger – former Danish international Louise Pedersen – on loan from Aalborg DH shortly before Christmas. Pedersen will be ready to play for her new team early in 2008, and so will long-term injured players, such as Gabriela Roti-Nagy, Line Hovgaard and Svetlana Ognjenovic.
The head coach therefore still has the same ambition for her last season at the club before leaving for FCK Håndbold, as she has had all the time:
“My objectives for the rest of the season are still to go on for the Main Round of the Champions League and to qualify for the play-offs in the Danish championship,” Anja Andersen said.
With two rounds left from the group stage of the Champions League, Slagelse have already qualified for the Main Round.
