Bojan Cotar explains the difficult period of the club, but Krim Ljubljana's coach has no intention to resign.
Krim in crisis due to injuries
The two-time European Champions from Slovenia, Krim Mercator, are near to say goodbye to the Champions League. This would be for the third time in the 13 year-history of the club to leave the competition so early.
What will happen next in the Slovenian club?
Coach Bojan Cotar had 4 months to prepare the team. However, he had to face many injury problems and never played with a complete team. He had to replace the experienced players with youngsters:
"Young players are great fighters, but they do not have proper experience yet. I think this was decisive. They could not find solutions in the moments of crisis," said Bojan Cotar after the third defeat in four matches of the CL season.
A valid question arises: what went wrong?
"We played too slow in attack," he added.
He was hoping that older players will be able to take responsibility, but there were always three or four of them sitting at home injured.
At the end, Krim were not able to meet the expectations of the management:
"I am not thinking of resignation,” said the 46-year old coach and added: "If they think I did not work properly or that I should go, they will sack me. If they think I can put into practice what I have in mind and give me more time, they will vote me confidence."
A decision will be reached in the next couple of days, but it would be strange to replace the coach in the middle of the season, especially when he could not work in perfect circumstances with the team.
