Győr unbeaten, FTC without a point

Valcea take the obligatory victory

After a 10-goal home defeat against Valcea, the goal of FTC was to play an equal game in Romania. Oltchim, on the other hand, wanted to collect the obligatory two points.

Ionela Stanca scored four against FTCThe hosts started with 4-0. Despite a good Pastrovics performance in the FTC goal, Ferencváros made too many mistakes in attack and they were completely helpless in the backcourt positions. The other big difference was that the hosts made use of their chances, but the Hungarians were not focused enough in the key moments.

FTC seemed to catch the rhythm and came back to only 4 goals in the mid first half. Tadici called a time-out; scolded the team and in the remaining minutes it all went according to his plans (18-9 at half time).

FTC stared well after the break with goals from Szucsánszki and Kovacsicz. Tolnai came on to replace Dinu in the Valcea goal, while Olteanu, Meirosu and Lecusanu kept scoring to take an 11-goal lead for Oltchim.

After a lot of missed opportunities, Zácsik scored. Valcea tried an open defence and it helped FTC to come closer. The second half was won by FTC, but the game ended 34-28 for Valcea.

Győr give no chance

Győr hosted bottom of the table team, Cementos Ribarroja in the last CL match of the year.

The hosts tried to avoid a weak start seen last week against Podravka and based their game on strict defending.

Pálinger keeps playing in top formRibarroja were forced to change goalkeeper already at the beginning at 5-1: Ciobanu came in for Sanchez Bravo.
Despite a couple of Győr suspensions, the guests could only score two goals in 15 minutes thanks to Pálinger in top form once again. Cementos were quite desperate and made fouls. The numerical advantages just made it easier for Győr.

Mravikova score her fourth goal that meant a 10-goal difference in the first half. Tomori also gave her contribution in attack and Győr could even perform well without Görbicz who came on only for the 7-m shots in the first half. The scoreboard showed 19-8 after 30 minutes.

The break did not bring a change in the game and Pálinger could be substituted by Herr already in the 38th minute.

Ejsmont was the only guest player to cause difficulties for the Hungarian defence.

In the 42th minute Görbicz also stepped on court and gave good assists. However, Ribarroja came back into the game and made it 28-21. In the last minutes of the match Győr gave the possibility to a couple of youth players who could conserve the difference. The match ended 32-24.

Ferencváros have only mathematic chance to reach third place, but Győr are sure to reach the Main Round already.
