Perfect week for Spanish CL teams

The victories of Ciudad Real and Barcelona completed a perfect week for Spanish clubs in the Champions League. All of them are leaders of their groups after four journeys and their qualification is near. Ciudad Real won an easy game in Poland against Lubin and Barcelona got a narrow victory in Russia against Astrakhan.

Astrakhan - Barcelona 30-31

Astrakhan were very difficult team for BarcelonaBarcelona suffered a lot to beat Astrakhan away, but the final victory allows Barcelona to go into the next games without much pressure. Iker Romero shows the best performance in the Catalonian team. He scored 10 goals in Russia and his performance was instrumental again for the good result of his team. Romero is a real leader of the Cadenas squad. He takes responsibility in the most difficult moments of every match.

Romero got a lot of help from Juan García. The Spanish winger scored 8 goals in fast attacks and he was able to convert in goals the good performance of the Barcelona defence.

Slatchev was the best player of Astrakhan scoring 6 goals. The Spanish team were three goals up at halftime, but Astrakhan could keep control of the score. The endgame was really close, but Astrakhan were not able to save a point and Barcelona took the victory (30-31).

Lubin - Ciudad Real 20-37

Stefansson scored 9 goalsCiudad Real had not so many problems to win in Poland. The Spanish have beaten Lubin by 20-37 in a game that was never too close. An excellent 5-1 Spanish defence and a very good performance of Hombrados in the goal secured an easy victory for Ciudad Real. This result confirms the top spot in Group G for Talant’s team and it is enough to qualify to the next group round. The Spanish side must can wait and watch the battle for the other qualification spot of the group.

Stefansson and Rutenka were scoring the most goals for Ciudad Real. Dujshebaev’s team needed this victory after a defeat last weekend in Spain against Ademar. The good offensive performance of the Spanish champions can compensate the fans for that game. Dujshebaev could not count on Metlicic and Urios this time, but it was not a problem for him. Michal Kubitztal was the best Lubin scorer with five goals. However it was not enough to clinch a surprise victory.
