Zsuzsa Tomori, young and prolific handballer of Győri ETO talks to Eurohandball.com. The back player expects victory in Spain.
”We want to win in Ribarroja”
Győri Audi ETO will travel to win in Spain this weekend. Eurohandball.com talks to a young Hungarian player who keeps scoring many for Győr, Zsuzsa Tomori.
Eurohandball.com: The Slagelse match was the first European Cup game for you. What did it feel like?
Zsuzsa Tomori: This game had a completely different atmosphere to a normal league game and our preparation was also different. I felt more tension throughout the week knowing that I will play in the CL at the weekend. It was very important for me to try myself on an international level, I’m very happy now.
Eurohandball.com: When you arrived, the coaches of Győr said that you lack self-confidence. Why was that?
Tomori: I got to play with stars whom I still have to reach. I always wanted to become a handball player like them. This scared me, but then I pulled myself together and now I think I can also prove my abilities on court. I was a bit afraid of fitting in, but now it seems to be okay. I hope to conserve my form for the future. Now I’m calm and my self-confidence is back. My team mates helped me a lot in this; they gave me a lot of good advice at the trainings.
Eurohandball.com: Did you make improvement in the last couple of months?
Tomori: Yes, especially in my physical abilities. I’m quicker now. Though technically I’m not so good, we try to work on it continuously.
Eurohandball.com: You will visit to Ribarroja on Saturday. Are you able to win?
Tomori: Based on the results, Ribarroja must be on a similar level to Slagelse. I expect a tough game especially on an away ground, but we want to win.
